COUNCIL INAUGURAL MEETING
In accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act and By -law No. 89 -155 of
the City of Niagara Falls, the Council met at 6:00 p.m. at the Main Court area of Niagara
Square. The City Clerk called the 2003 Inaugural Meeting of Council to order. The Council
included His Worship Mayor Ted Salci, and Aldermen Wayne Campbell, Jim Diodati,
Carolynn loannoni, Vince Kerrio, Joyce Morocco, Victor Pietrangelo, Selina Volpatti and
Janice Wing. All members of Council, were present.
Ms. Carol Martin sang the National Anthem.
Father Tony McNamara offered the Prayer of Invocation.
The City Clerk called upon His Honour Justice Don Taliano to administer the Oath
of Office to Ted Salci and the Aldermen.
The Statutory Declarations of Office and Qualifications were filed with the City Clerk.
Resolution No. 29- Moved by Alderman Diodati, seconded by Alderman Campbell,
to Resolve that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its
appreciation to His Honour Justice Don Taliano for presiding over the Declaration of Office
and Oath of Allegiance ceremony at this Inaugural meeting. Carried Unanimously.
His Worship Mayor Salci expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the
participants and to the citizens of Niagara Falls for their attendance and support and
introduced the new members of Council.
Following Mayor Salci's address, Father McNamara offered the Closing Prayer.
Resolution No. 30 Moved by Alderman loannoni, seconded by Alderman Kerrio,
to Resolve that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its
thanks to Father McNamara for his blessing bestowed on His Worship Mayor Salci and
members of Municipal Council. Carried Unanimously.
Resolution No. 31 Moved by Alderman Volpatti, seconded by Alderman Wing,
that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its thanks to Mr. Ed
Pizzo, Mr. David Chubb and the Westlane Eclipse Choir, Ms. Carol Martin, and the Master
of Ceremonies, Mr. Bill Auchterlonie for their participation in the Inaugural ceremonies.
Carried Unanimously.
Resolution No. 32 Moved by Alderman Pietrangelo, seconded by Alderman
Morocco, that the Inaugural meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Niagara Falls be adjourned. Carried Unanimously.
