WHEREAS all meetings of Council are to be open to the public; and
WHEREAS the only time a meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public is if the
subject matter falls under one of the exceptions under section 239 of the Municipal Act.
WHEREAS on March 31, 2026, Niagara Falls City Council will be holding Closed Meetings as
permitted under s. 239 (2) of the Municipal Act, namely;
(b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal employees;
(c) a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local
board;
(d) labour relations or employee negotiations;
(e) litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals,
affecting the municipality or local board;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that on March 31, 2026 Niagara Falls City Council will go into
a closed meeting to consider matters that fall under s. 239 (2) (c) regarding proposed sale of land;
land; (b) & (d) personal matter about an identifiable individual as well as a labour relations matter;
(e) two separate litigation matters before the Ontario Land Tribunal,
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
