WHEREAS Springlicious ( "the event') is an annual food, wine and beer expo that promotes the City' s
downtown businesses; and
WHEREAS the event is scheduled for June 1 - 3, 2012; and
WHEREAS the event is being organized by Celebrate Old Downtown Community Corporation
( "COD "), a not - for - profit organization; and
WHEREAS a wine garden is being proposed for Centennial Square in front of City Hall; and
WHEREAS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence from the Alcohol & Gaming Commission
of Ontario (AGCO), the event requires a resolution of Council recognizing it as a public event of
municipal significance; and
WHEREAS the event is significant as it annually provides exposure to the City's Downtown core.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council consent to Centennial Square being the venue fior
a wine garden for this year's Springlicious; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council considers the fifth annual
Springlicious as an event of municipal significance and supports the provision of a Special Occasion
Liquor Licence (SOP) for the event.
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
