WHEREAS the Government of Canada, through the Economic Action Plan 2012, has announced $150
million nationally over the next two years for a new Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund
(CIF); and
WHEREAS the CIF will support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing
community infrastructure facilities such as community centres, recreational buildings, local arenas,
cultural facilities and other community facilities; and
WHEREAS the Millennium Trail Section Three (the "Project ") envisions the extension of the northern
most section of the city's major walking trail, connectivity to the Niagara Parks Commission trail
system and a partnership opportunity as part of the Niagara Falls Lions Club Legacy Project; and
WHEREAS the Project will provide increased trail opportunities for the community and associated
trail amenities; and
WHEREAS projects must be endorsed by a resolution by the submitting municipal council.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls submits the
Millennium Trail Section Three for consideration for the Community Infrastructure Improvement
Fund (CIF)
