WHEREAS the Government of Canada, through the Economic Action Plan 2012, has announced $150
million nationally over the next two years for a new Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund
(CIF); and
WHEREAS the CIF will support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing
community infrastructure facilities such as community centres, recreational buildings, local arenas,
cultural facilities and other community facilities; and
WHEREAS the reconstruction and road widening of McLeod Road between Pin Oak Drive and Kalar
Road (the "Project ") is a $2 million project that envisions improvement to an existing local road that
connects a commercial node to a residential node in the community; and
WHEREAS the Project will create jobs, provide improved traffic flow, eliminate a safety hazard, and
spur residential development; and
WHEREAS projects must be endorsed by a resolution by the submitting municipal council.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls submits the
Reconstruction and Road Widening of McLeod Road for consideration for the Community
Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIF)
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
