WHEREAS the Government of Canada, through the Economic Action Plan 2012, has announced $150
million nationally over the next two years for a new Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund
(CIF); and
WHEREAS the CIF will support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing
community infrastructure facilities such as community centres, recreational buildings, local arenas,
cultural facilities and other community facilities; and
WHEREAS the Prince Charles Park and Pool Redevelopment Project (the "Project ") envisions a half
a million project that will see park improvements to include a play area replacement, a conversion of
a wading pool to a splash pad, pathway upgrades, a new pool liner and a roof for the main building; and
WHEREAS the Project will provide a much needed upgrade to recreational facilities for the local
community; and
WHEREAS projects must be endorsed by a resolution by the submitting municipal council.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls submits the
Prince Charles Park and Pool Redevelopment Project for consideration for the Community
Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIF)
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
