05-10-2022 - In-CameraThe City of Niagara Falls, Ontario Resolution May 10, 2022 Moved by: Councillor Wayne Thomson Seconded by: Councillor Chris Dabrowski WHEREAS all meetings of Council are to be open to the public; and WHEREAS the only time a meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public is if the subject matter falls under one of the exceptions under s. 239(2) of the Municipal Act. WHEREAS on May 10, 2022, Niagara Falls City Council will be holding a Closed Meeting as permitted under s. 239 (2)(c), of the Municipal Act, namely; (2) A meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered is; (c) a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board; (i) a trade secret or scientific, technical„ commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other negotiations or a person, group of persons, or organization. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that on May 10, 2022 Niagara Falls City Council will go into a closed meeting to consider matters that fall under section 239 (2) (c) to discuss a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality in relation to road widening/driveway and infrastructure purposes to support the new Niagara South Hospital as well as a separate matter involving the former Coronation Building. Under section 239 (2) (i), Council will also consider confidential matters regarding the Niagara District Airport, the Transit Amalgamation, as well as a negotiated purchase of a fire truck.
