WHEREAS the Provincial Government has recognized the importance of public transit and
created the "Dedicated Gasoline Tax Funds for Public Transportation Program"; and
WHEREAS the program provides sustainable funding to support investments and expansion of
public transportation systems; and
WHEREAS the municipality stands to receive $824,000 in 2006 and $1,094,000 in subsequent
years; and
WHEREAS accessing the funding is contingent upon the Niagara Transit submitting a Ridership
Growth Plan and Asset Management Plan.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council endorses the Niagara Transit
Transit Ridership Growth Plan and Asset Management Plan to be submitted to the Provincial
Government.
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
