WHEREAS all meetings of Council are to be open to the public; and
WHEREAS the only time a meeting or part of a meeting may be closed to the public is if
the subject matter falls under one of the exceptions under s. 239(2) of the Municipal Act.
WHEREAS on June 20, 2023, Niagara Falls City Council will be holding Closed Meetings
as permitted under s. 239 (2) of the Municipal Act, namely;
(a) The security of the property of the municipality or local board;
(b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local
board employees;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that on June 20, 2023 Niagara Falls City Council will
go into a closed meeting to consider matters that fall under section 239 (2) (a) to discuss
the security of the property of the municipality with regards to insurance coverage and
matters that fall under section 239 (2) (b) regarding a personal matter involving the CAO.
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
