2006/12/04INAUGURAL MEETING MacBain Community Centre December 4, 2006 In accordance with the provision of the Municipal Act and By -law No. 89 -155 of the City of Niagara Falls, the Council met at 7:00 p.m. in MacBain Community Centre gymnasium. The City Clerk called the 2006 Inaugural Meeting of Council to order. The Council included His Worship Mayor Ted Salci, and Aldermen Jim Diodati, Shirley Fisher, Carolynn loannoni, Vince Kerrio, Bart Maves, Victor Pietrangelo, Wayne Thomson and Janice Wing. All members of Council, were present. Alexa Kerrio and the A.N. Myer School Band performed the National Anthem. Father Tony McNamara offered the Prayer of Invocation. The City Clerk called upon His Honourable Mr. Justice Donald J. Taliano to administer the Oath of Office to City Council and His Worship Mayor Ted Salci. The Statutory Declarations of Office and Qualifications were filed with the City Clerk. His Worship Ted Salci delivered his inaugural address. Reverend Martin Goode, Niagara Falls Ministerial Fellowship made a presentation to the Council and offered the closing prayer. Resolution No.12 Moved by Alderman loannoni, seconded by Alderman Pietrangelo, to Resolve that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its appreciation to His Honourable Mr. Justice Donald J. Taliano for presiding over the Declaration of Office and Oath of Allegiance ceremony at this Inaugural meeting. Carried Unanimously. Resolution No.13 Moved by Alderman Thomson, seconded by Alderman Maves, to Resolve that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its thanks to Father Tony McNamara for offering the Prayer of Invocation and blessing bestowed on His Worship Mayor Salci and the Members of Municipal Council and to Pastor Martin Goode and the Ministerial Fellowship for the closing prayer and presentation. Carried Unanimously Resolution No.14 Moved by Alderman Kerrio, seconded by Alderman Wing, to Resolve that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls express its thanks to Alexa Kerrio, the Saint Michael Drum Line, the A.N. Myer School band and the Westlane Eclipse Choir for their participation in the Inaugural ceremonies. Carried Unanimously Resolution No.15 Moved by Alderman Fisher, seconded by Alderman Diodati, to Resolve that Council express its thanks to the YMCA, for use of their facility, Town and Country Florists for their donation of flowers, and the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee for volunteering for the event. Carried Unanimously 2 December 4, 2006 Resolution No. 16 Moved by Alderman Thomson, seconded by Alderman loannoni, that the Inaugural meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls be adjourned.
