Dear Valued Participant:
Please accept this invitation to a truly exciting event - Summit 2007: Four Pillars of a Complete
Niagara. This two-day event is being staged on May 10 and 11, 2007 at the Hilton Garden Inn

Our agenda for the two days builds upon the successes of past events and continuing Niagara's
leading journey on the path of integrated community sustainability. The program is driven by three
complimentary themes:
Growth Management, including the use of innovative visualization;
Understanding how Niagara's growth directions are affected by the efforts of our
neighbours and our key Great Lakes location; and,
Appreciating that Niagara's growth has economic, social, environmental and cultural
dimensions and how we are managing these in the community.
Please mark your calendar to join us in learning more and in sharing your views. Registration
details are included in the attached brochure.

Municioal Politicians Seminar: Firefiahtina 101
Sundav Mav 6 and Mondav Mav 7. 2007
The Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC) is working to help municipal
Councillors to better understand the challenges of the fire service and its
importance to your community. This year as part of our Annual Meeting and
Educational Seminars we are offering a seminar for politicians.
This seminar is a two day course: Firefighting 101. It will provide you with first
hand information and knowledge about the fire service and will provide you
with an experience that you will never forget. On Sunday May 6 the OAFC
has partnered with the City of Toronto Fire Services to offer you a special
program tailored specifically for politicians. You will slip into bunker gear and
experience first hand the life of a firefighter by participating in a number of
live fire training exercises. Sunday night you will attend a moving Memorial
Service which recognizes Fire Officers who have died during the past year.
On day two, Monday, there will be seminars on fire department issues, a
speech by the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, the
honourable Monte Kwinter and on Monday aftemoon you will be able to visit
the largest Fire Services Trade Show in Canada where you will be able to
see a wide variety of fire vehicles and equipment and be able to talk directly
to the suppliers and manufacturers. Politicians who attended this seminar
last year said that it was one of the best conferences and training sessions
that they had ever attended!
Full Seminar details are available on line at www.oafcevenls.com.
Registration cost includes a wine and cheese reception, two lunches and
Monday breakfast. Registration for this unique seminar is limited to 24
people.
To register please complete the attached registration form and fax it to the
OAFC office. If your Fire Chief is a member of the OAFe then you will receive
the special Member registration rate.
