PRESS: Corey Larocque, Niagara Falls Review Rob Lapensee, Niagara This Week ******* CONFLICTS: Councillor Kerrio declared a conflict with respect to the presentation from Niagara Falls Tourism as City funding is a direct benefit to the tourism industry of which he is a member. ******* 1. MINUTES: MOVED by Mayor Salci, seconded by Councillor Diodati, that the minutes of the March 19, 2007 meeting be adopted as recorded. Motion Carried Unanimouslv 2. 2007 FUNDING REQUESTS: Child Advocacy Centre Niaaara MOVED by Councillor loannoni, seconded by Mayor Salci, that the 2007 funding request from the Child Advocacy Centre Niagara be referred to final budget deliberations. Board of Museums MOVED by Mayor Salci, seconded by Councillor Diodati, that the 2007 funding request from the Board of Museums be referred to final budget deliberations. Motion Carried UnanimouslY Communications: MOVED by Councillor Maves, seconded by Councillor Kerrio, that the correspondence from United Way of Niagara be received for information. MOVED by Councillor Diodati, seconded by Councillor Thomson, that the request for an ornamental fence between 5067 Victoria A yenue and the Armoury property be referred to staff; further, that additional quotes be obtained and that consideration be giyen to an aluminum ornamental fence as compared to the more costly cast iron. Motion Carried Unanimously 3. 2007 BUDGET PRESENTATION The Chief Administrative Officer provided a brief overview on the status of the 2007 General Purposes BUdget At present, the budget shows a $1.8 million deficit which translates to a tax levy increase of 4.5%. Departmental presentations were provided for Municipal Works, Parks, Recreation & Culture, Fire Services and Administrative Services. The presentations provided an overview of departmental priorities. 4. ADJOURNMENT: MOVED by Councillor loannoni, seconded by Mayor Salci, that the meeting be adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Motion Carried Unanimously
