To maximize access to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, where several municipalities wish to

your MPP or directly to the Ministers' Offices, In order to better facilitate the municipalities in their
conference plans, by advising you of your delegation time in advance, no delegation requests will be
accepted after the DEADLINE of Friday, July 27th .
Municipalities will be contacted by the respective Ministries about their requests and, if applicable, the
meeting time and location, approximately one week before the Conference .
If you are requesting a meeting with more than one Minister, please complete ONE FORM PER
REQUEST . We ask that delegates not meet with more than one Minister on a given issue. To make the
most of the delegation time available (delegations usually run 15 minutes) ,please ask to discuss your
issue only with the Minister or Parliamentary Assistant responsible for that issue,
Thank you.

From; Larry Ketcheson, CEO, Parks and Recreation Ontario
The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) is organizing the first National Parliamentary
Forum on Parks and Recreation. The .Forum will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, the
day before the opening of Canada's National Conference and Trade Show in Ottawa, presented by
CPRA, PRO and the City of Ottawa.
The objective of the Forum is to engage and inform Members of Parliament (MPs), political staff and
senior bureaucrats about important issues for parks and recreation in Canada including the need for
an investment in infrastructure, volunteer support and the environment. Participants in the Forum will
arrange for meetings with their MPs, political staff and senior bureaucrats from all political parties on
this day to discuss these priorities and to encourage the federal government to support programs and
legislation that align with the priorities of the parks and recreation sector. The event is supported by
the CPRA "Senior Manager's Group", which meets each yearto discuss issues of relevance to the
sector.
CPRA and PRO are calling on members and other stakeholders to become involved in this advocacy
event, The National Parliamentary Forum provides a unique opportunity to take our messages to
Parliament Hill and for individuals to develop a relationship with their local representative in Ottawa
and will assist participants with an understanding of how Government works. This will also
compliment PRO's Ontario Election Platform and advocacy strategy, leading up to the provincial
election in October.
Anyone interested in participating in the Forum should contact Meagan Curtis ,at CPRA (613-523-5315
or mc_urtis c rasa). The cost of this event is $100, which includes lunch and a briefing on the
workings of government before meeting Members of Parliament and their key staff. In the coming
weeks you will be able to sign up online (www.cpra.ca) to confirm your attendance. After you sign up,
all further support will be provided (such as a sample letterfor you to send to your MP to request the
meeting}. Plan to be part of this event and be part of a movement to affect policy change in Ottawa.
