WHEREAS the City's Canada Day celebrations is one of the most eagerly anticipated events
organized by the municipality; and
WHEREAS since 1995, applications have been made to the Federal government for funding; and
WHEREAS such requests for funding have been successful with the municipality receiving $2500
in 2007; and
WHEREAS the Federal government is now requesting a Council resolution authorizing the
submission of the grant application.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriate staff person be authorized to submit a
financial request to the Department of Canadian Heritage in relation to the "Celebrate Canada!"
program for organizing activities to celebrate Canada Day.
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
