WIIERFAS the Downtown Board of Management (BIA) through Celebrate Old Downtown
Community Corporation, have planned a number of events for the summer; and
WIIEREAS their first event, Springlicious, was a resounding success; and
WIIEII~AS upcoming events are Daredevil Days (August 15tH - 17tH) and Days of Elvis (September
Stn _ ~tn)~ and
WIIEI~AS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence from the Alcohol & Gaming Commission
of Ontario (AGCO), these event require a resolution of Council recognizing them as Community
Festivals; and
WIIEItEAS the organizers have also requested that Council allow an exemption to the Noise By-law
to permit live entertainment until 11:30 p.m. on the Friday and Saturday nights of the events; and
W1=I1JItFAS these events will provide needed exposure to the Downtown.
TII1JI21JF01~ ~1? IT ItESOL,VED that the Old Downtown Community Corporation's Daredevil
Days and Days of Elvis are community events deserving of City Council support; and
FLTI2TIIEIt D1J IT IZIJSOL~VED that Council approves an exemption to the Noise By-law to allow
live entertainment until 11:30 p.m. for the aforementioned events.
