W~IEI2EAS the Gale Centre, a four-pad arena complex (hereinafter, the "complex"), is slated to open
in Spring 2010; and
WIi~REAS the complex is a$38-million project; and
WHEREAS ideally, an extension to Thorold Stone Road (hereinafter, the "road") would be the best
access to the complex; and
VV]E~~REAS an environmental assessment for the extension to the road has bcen completed; and
W~lE1~AS the Regional Municipality of Niagara has budgeted for the i~oad extension in 2009; and
W~~REAS any undue delay on the exte»sion of the road will mean that Fourth Avenue will be the
access to the complex; and
W~~IZ~AS Fourth Avenue, a largely residential road, is not as well suited for access to the complex,
as Thorold Stone Road.
