2010/12/06 INAUGURAL MEETING Gale Centre December 6, 2010 In accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act and By -law No. 89 -155 of the City of Niagara Falls, the Council met at 6:30 p.m. at the Gale Centre Memorial Room. The City Clerk called the 2010 - 2014 Council Inaugural Meeting of to order. The Council included His Worship Mayor Jim Diodati, and Councillors Wayne Gates, Carolynn loannoni, Vince Kerrio, Bart Maves, Joyce Morocco, Victor Pietrangelo, Wayne Thomson and Janice Wing. All members of Council, were present. Samantha Hart sang the National Anthem. Monsignor Vincent Ferrando offered the Prayer of Invocation. The City Clerk called upon His Worship Justice of the Peace Bruce Phillips administered the Oath of Office to City Council and His Worship Mayor Jim Diodati. The Statutory Declarations of Office and Qualifications were filed with the City Clerk. His Worship Mayor Jim Diodati delivered his inaugural address. Pastor Christer Ireborg, Niagara Falls Ministerial Fellowship made a presentation to the Mayor. ORDERED on the motion of Councillor Gates, seconded by Councillor loannoni that Council thank Monsignor Vincent Ferrando for offering the Prayer of Invocation for the Inaugural Council meeting. Carried Unanimously. ORDERED on the motion of Councillor Kerrio, seconded by Councillor Maves that Council thank His Worship Justice of the Peace Bruce Phillips for presiding over the swearing -in ceremony for the Inaugural Council meeting. Carried Unanimously ORDERED on the motion of Councillor Morocco, seconded by Councillor Pietrangelo that Council thank Town Crier Derek Tidd, Piper Shelby Andrews, the Niagara Regional Police Honour Guard and Rick Rose for their participation in the Inaugural Council meeting. Carried Unanimously ORDERED on the motion of Councillor Thomson, seconded by Councillor Wing that the Inaugural meeting of the 2010 - 2014 Niagara Falls City Council be adjourned.
