2011/01/17 (4) 7, d cirr or c.seeoa N 46ARA FA ._ The City of Niagara Falls, Ontario Resolution January 17, 2011 No. 04 Moved by Councillor Ioannoni Seconded by Councillor Thomson WHEREAS the Regional Municipality of Niagara (the Region) has had a Public Domain Incentives Program (the "Program ") in place since 2008; and WHEREAS municipalities that have a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) in place for an area can apply for funding to a maximum amount of $100,000; and WHEREAS the City has received past approval under the Program, for Downtown streetscape enhancements; and WHEREAS the City is well positioned to satisfy the eligibility requirements, which emphasizes public realm and streetscape improvements; and WHEREAS the proposed improvements for the Downtown include expanded sidewalks for outdoor cafes, additional sidewalk improvements, raised flowerbeds, enhanced tree planting, benches, litter receptacles and public art. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls supports an application to Regional Municipality of Niagara for funding under the Public Domain Incentives Program for the Public Realm Improvements for the Downtown C.I.P. area.
