WHEREAS the Niagara Motorcycle Show is scheduled for July 20 - 22, 2012 at the Scotiabank
Convention Centre (SCC); and
WHEREAS 50,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and 250 vendors are expected for this inaugural event;
and
WHEREAS it is in the municipality's best interest that the SCC be regularly occupied with events
for the enjoyment of visitors and residents alike; and
WHEREAS this event is the type of events marketing approach being promoted by the Province;
and
WHEREAS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence from the Alcohol & Gaming Commission
of Ontario (AGCO), the event requires a resolution of Council recognizing it as a public event of
municipal significance.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council considers the Niagara
Motorcycle Show to be an event of municipal significance and supports the provision of a Special
Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) for the event.
AND The Seal of the Corporation be hereto affixed.
