WHEREAS the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise is planning their tenth annual"Ribfest"from
June 13th - 15`h, 2014; and
WHEREAS the Ribfest is a well-established and popular event in the community; and
WHEREAS the 2014 event will be held at the new location of Niagara Square; and
WHEREAS the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise financially supports numerous community
organizations and projects; and
WHEREAS this event is expected to attract between 40,000 to 75,000 persons from throughout
Ontario and Western New York; and
WHEREAS this event will assist the Rotary Club in reaching their financial objectives for giving
funds to the community; and
WHEREAS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence from the Alcohol &Gaming Commission
of Ontario (AGCO), the event requires a resolution of Council recognizing it as a public event of
municipal significance.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council considers the Rotary Club of
Niagara Falls Sunrise Ribfest to be an event of municipal significance and supports the provision
of a Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) for the event.
