WHEREAS Livestock is a local, not-for-profit, music festival that sees more than forty (40)
musical acts perform for free in the City's Downtown in July; and
WHEREAS the event organizers are planning this year's, third annual, event; and
WHEREAS on March 31, 2017 at the Lundy's Lane Untied Church, a fundraiser for
Livestock will be held; and
WHEREAS the event organizer would like to be able to provide alcohol at the fundraiser;
and
WHEREAS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) from the Alcohol &
Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the event requires a resolution of Council
recognizing it as an event of municipal significance; and
WHEREAS the event is significant in that it will bring vitality to the City's Downtown and
will foster increased recognition of the City's cultural community and offerings.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council considers Livestock, and
related fundraisers, as an event of municipal significance and supports the provision of a
Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) for the event.
