WHEREAS Heaters Heroes is a group of community volunteers that have raised money for
worthy charities in our community, such as Tender Wishes and Heartland Forest, through
their annual Run for Children event; and
WHEREAS Heaters Heroes 7`" annual event will be held at the city-owned Oakes Park on
August 12, 2017; and
WHEREAS the event organizers would like to be able to serve alcohol at the fundraiser; and
WHEREAS to obtain a Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) from the Alcohol & Gaming
Commission of Ontario (ACCO), the event requires a resolution of Council recognizing it as
an event of municipal significance; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Niagara Falls City Council considers the 7th annual
Heaters Heroes Run for Children to be an event of municipal significance and supports the
provision of a Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOP) for the event.
